[witty title here]

Today I decided not to go to uni. There is only 3 days until holiday, and the last thing I felt like was walking into town for 2 lectures then walking back...

Instead I stayed home and whittled the hours away 'till it was time for choir.

After choir I had the privilege of going to a piano/violin concert, which was amazing. Some of the duets they played...wow. Inspiring.

It was held at the art gallery called 'The Temple' (I think). It was the old 'Stone Masons' headquarters, and if you didn't know it was there, there would be no way to find it. The artwork there was also inspiring, and the longer I looked at the pieces the more and more I saw. I wish I'd had my camera there (and been allowed to take photos) so I could show how cool they were.

Joke for Economics majors

An engineer, a priest and an economist are trapped together at the bottom of a well.

The engineer looks around for a while and thinks he has a solution."Given the materials we have amongst us, I should be able to build a contraption to get us out of here," says the engineer.

The priest replies, "No. That will never work. We must pray, and put our faith in God. He will show us a way out of here."

To that, the economist says, "You're both wrong. Assume a ladder."

Time for a story...

As I walked into uni. and back each day (40min there, slightly longer back due to the mountains, um..., I mean hills) I have the good fortune (?) to ponder about many different things.

I worked out why I like listening to music when I'm walking. It's because it makes me feel like I'm in a movie. Like when I'm sitting in the car (when I had a car) and the radio is blaring I'm like, "yeah!, awesome, 'Life', starring 'James'". And I imagine the movie camera panning out and setting the scene and stuff like that.

Wow, I should make a movie.

It would be awesome.

It could be...

A love story?

about...

Vampires?

This reminds of a tale from my childhood

In std. four (aged 9 or 10) I had to do this writing project where I wrote the introduction to a story and passed it along to the next person. They then wrote the next paragraph, meanwhile I wrote a paragraph for someone else.

With thirty kids in the class it meant that the first story I read and added to had one paragraph. The second had two, the fourth four, the twentieth twenty... You get the idea.

It wasn't long before I got bored of reading increasingly longer stories, so I started just reading the last couple of paragraphs to get the gist of the story, then added my short part. After all, what harm could it do??

When I finally got my story back, I added the ending. "[Main character] woke up! It was a dream... But then why were there paw prints leading up to the bed?" sort of deal. How clever and original I thought, talk about a twist!

I then began reading the twentynine paragraph body of the story, where I discovered that he had woken up six times already. Evidently It was a dream, in a dream, in a dream, in a dream, in a dream, in a dream, in a dream. It seems everyone paid just as much attention to my story as I did to theirs. But hey, at least my ending was original??

Dealth Penalty

So for all those people that endorse the death penalty (I don't know any personally, but I'm sure they're out there) take a look at this article (click here).

When I read it I actually felt like I was going to be ill.

So in 12 days I will be lying in Fiji, sun bathing and taking advantage of unlimited house wine and beer. Perhaps I'll start sailing again. Maybe I'll try diving. Oh the possibilities...

---
Yesterday I played squash for the fist time in a while. My back hurts :-S.

----
Also, I'm tired, and my computer at home is broken. We have a virus. I tried to fix it, but I think I made it worse. Now it doesn't start at all...

So I've been thinking alot about music- how it influences us, what is says about us etc.

Why do we like certain styles of music and not others?

Is it the message, the music, the image, or a combination of lots of things?? Do we define our music or does our music define us??

It seems to me that a person's taste in music is very pesonal. If someone were to insult my taste in music I would be very offended.

At the moment its faux-indie pop/rock eg. The Shins, The Killers.

So what does that say about me??

4/08/2005

So, being the conceited child I am (well, not really, It's just that I'm so great :-P) I jus googled myself. Alas, there are ~90,000 other "James Murray"s in the world.

lol, so I may not be quiet as special as I thought.

"Won't someone think of the children??"

Every had one of those days where nothing seems to go right....?

Well, today wasn't one of those days for me. Everything seemed to go perectly.

Everything just flowed, from the traffic lights, to university and now to work, to the fact that the sun actually shone.

Awesome.

Although I do fear for my blood sugar levels/capicity to process caffine... how much coffee/coke is too much...? I realised the other day that I will easily drink a glass of coke a day. And at least one cup of coffee... perhaps thats why everything seems to be going so well- "IT'S ALL DRUG INDUCED... ARGGHHHH........."

----
And in the real world James is at work....

So there have been many nights this week with exceptionally late nights...

...100 points to anyone who guesses why...
